County Auditor Carri Brown has proven herself to be a
dedicated public servant and a careful steward of county finances,
serving the community with professionalism and heart.
In November of 1988, Carri Brown began her career with our county as a Deputy Auditor with the Auditor’s Office.
Experience That Matters
For decades, Carri Brown has served Fairfield County with dedication. She began her career in the Auditor’s Office and went on to serve in senior county leadership, including County Administrator, before becoming County Auditor.
Her education and professional credentials, including a PhD, MBA, and Certified Government Financial Manager designation, complement that hands-on experience.

As Auditor, Carri has focused on strong financial stewardship, transparency, modern technology, accessible property information, and better service for taxpayers.
Under her leadership, the office has expanded online services and tools, strengthened financial reporting and public information, and made complex legislation and valuation issues easier for residents to understand.

Carri’s work has received recognition beyond Fairfield County, including professional recognition for leadership in government financial management and recognition of the Auditor’s Office for its service to the community. With nearly 16 years of service in the County Auditor’s Office, 12 years in top leadership positions in local government and more than eight years as the Fairfield County Administrator, Carri has the skills and experience to orchestrate repeated success for every function of the County Auditor’s Office.
